Born in Brooklyn, NY to Frank and Gertrude La Mura, Edward graduated from Brooklyn Tech High School and Pratt Institute, fulfilling his lifelong dream of becoming an architect. He proudly served for two years in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, stationed in France, and never tired of telling stories of his time in service. He spent the majority of his architectural career working for the Facilities Development Corporation while designing other passion projects on the side. He and his wife, Aileen, were devoted lectors for over 40 years at St. Anselm in Brooklyn and Our Lady Queen of Peace in Staten Island.

Some of Ed's favorite things were: the Brooklyn Dodgers (he never really got over them moving to L.A.), the NY Giants, Charles Schulz's Peanuts, model trains, M*A*S*H, Downton Abbey, visiting and explaining the architecture of gothic cathedrals, and ballroom dancing with his wife (they were always the first ones on and last ones off any dance floor). He will be remembered for his outgoing personality and for continually showing kindness to others.

Ed is survived by his bride of 61 years, Aileen (nee Fox), his son, Kevin, his sisters, Sandra and Linda, and numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Edward "Ted".
