Obituary

Douglas Andrew Daudelin was born on December 2nd, 1967, in Victory Memorial Hospital, Brooklyn, New York -- the fifth of six children to Arthur and Dolores Daudelin.

He attended St. Anselm Elementary School in Bay Ridge, Xavier High School in Manhattan (where he participated in both the football and Junior ROTC programs), and the College of Staten Island, CUNY.

Doug grew up in a loving if occasionally fractious household where his four brothers and an older sister may have struggled sometimes to get along. But it was a home that was never short on love, laughter and music under the supportive care of two wonderful parents.

In 2000, Doug married Molly Freeman and after moving together to the West Coast a few years later (where he eventually held a managerial position with Dish Network) they continued to grow their family, ultimately welcoming over the years three lively and lovely daughters named Dorothy, Clare, and Bernadette.

When their marriage ended, Doug returned to New York where his presence was invaluable to our elderly mother. There, Doug would make frequent pilgrimages to his beloved Citi Field where he was one of the world's great New York Mets fans, among other franchises.

Upon Mom's passing in 2022, Doug returned to Portland where his family still resides. Unfortunately, several serious health challenges continued to present themselves to Doug, culminating in his passing just a few months short of what would have been his 58th birthday.

Doug's sudden absence has left an extended group of family and friends heartbroken and devastated, but grateful that we had a last week of fun with him when he visited us at summer's end this year.

Of course that included a trip to see the Mets.
