Donald Pace of Brooklyn, NY passed away on November 24th at the age of 76. He died peacefully with his wife of 38 years, Barbara, by his side after several months of declining health.
Donald was born in the Brooklyn on June 10, 1946 to parents Lillian and Alfred. He spent his childhood years in Brighton Beach, in a tight-knit community that provided housing for WWII veterans and their families. By the early 1960's his family moved to Canarsie, in Brooklyn, New York where he spent his teenage years with his brothers, Kenneth and Robert. He attended Brooklyn Polytechnic HS and then went on to the City College of New York where he earned his teaching degree. Donald was committed to his community as a school psychologist within the New York City school system, positively impacting children's lives his whole career.
Donald carried with him a zest for fine food, world travel, jamming on the guitar and, of course love. Never one to miss an opportunity for a good story or recollection of a memory, Donald was a warm, kind, and engaging man who was deeply loved by all whom he touched. . In 1984, he married the love of his life, Barbara, and together, they forged a life filled with sunsets at Orange Lake, extended visits to Colorado with their grandchildren, travel extensively abroad, and most of all, close bonds with family. Donald and Barbara were highly devoted to one another and selflessly shared their love with friends and family. It has been a life well-lived for Donald.
Donald is survived by the love of his life Barbara; son, Joshua and his wife, Melissa; son, Elias; brother Robert and his wife, Barbara; and his grandchildren Henry and Clarice (aka the Smoochies) and his sister-in law Patti. He also leaves behind his niece, Lauren and her husband Matt, sons Anthony and Rocco, nephew Jonathan his wife Kristin.
