Throughout that time, David was being visited and comforted by family. David was a long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a proud NYC MTA bus driver for 26 years. David was born on July 28, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the second son of the late Edward and Mary Durney. His brothers Matthew and James Durney also preceded David in death. David was survived by nine siblings: Gerard Durney and his wife Joanne, Paul Durney and his wife Maureen, Frances Cullen and her husband John, Mary Ellen Pender, Stephen Durney, Catherine Durney-Badea and her husband Dan, Jennifer Butler and her husband Ed, Richard Durney, Elizabeth McCabe and her husband Tom. David was also survived by 19 nieces and nephews and one great-nephew.
