It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Daniel F. Gorman, who died peacefully on September 10, 2026 at the age of 86. Danny was born in Park Slope, Brooklyn on December 3, 1939, to James “Harry” Gorman and Julia Donlon Gorman, the seventh of their eleven children. His diverse talents and tireless work ethic guided him through many careers, including film, stone and ironwork, and bartending, but he most proudly served his city as a Firefighter in the Fire Department of New York.He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Harry, Joe, Eddie, Tommy, Johnny, Billy, Charlie, Jerry, and Julia “Sis” Gorman, and his first wife Janet Gaucher Gorman.

He is survived by his wife Theresa; his sons Joseph and Daniel, and his daughter Megan; his sister Elizabeth “Sally” Foster; as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his many beloved nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed, but his love, generosity, and humor will be forever celebrated.

A viewing will be held in his honor at Clavin Funeral Home on Sunday, September 13th, from 3:00pm through 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Anselm RC Church on Monday, September 14th, at 9:45am.
