Obituary

Chad Seda, age 51, of Staten Island, NY, passed away suddenly to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

Chad was born on June 6,1974 at Methodist Hospital to the late Julio Seda and Toni Bordonali (living) as their only child. He attended Shallow JHS and on to John Dewey HS where he graduated in 1993. Chad started working shortly after at Long Island College Hospital as a housekeeper and eventually became a security guard. It was during this time when he met his future wife Sophya working at LICH as well and was instantly "quite smitten". In February of 2001, he asked her out on a date, one year later he proposed and on May 3rd, 2003 they married in a beautiful ceremony at Our Lady of Angels Church with their family and friends. Chad and Sophya were inspired with goals and dreams to go to Radiology School with Sophya encouraging and fully supporting him to go first shortly after they married. Chad proudly graduated in 2006 and was employed by Maimonides Hospital full time while also working part time at LICH. In September of 2008, Chad and Sophya proudly welcomed their only child Julianna. Eight months later, Chad fully supported Sophya to go to Radiology School and she did and he was so proud to be a part of making both their dreams come true. He adored and admired her as she advanced in her career. Chad was her biggest fan. Together they were truly THE power couple. Chad devoted his whole life to his family making sure they had the best of everything. Sophya and Julianna were his world-his legacy.

He also dedicated his life to his work family at Maimonides Hospital. His work ethic, devotion to patient care, his down to earth demeanor and character, showed everyone the type of person he was. He inspired so many. He taught so many. He would help anyone, give anything, support those who needed comfort or just simply be there to listen. He was genuinely an all around "great guy" to all. Always smiling even if he had a bad day-his smile was for others, not for himself-he gave unselfishly. He also had his fun side, enjoyed parading around what an Alpha male he was, sometimes with a cigar and beer in hand laughing away.

Chad leaves behind so many friends, his childhood best friend/brother Gil, his loving mother Toni, his family through Sophya who he loved so much, most especially his nephew who he was so proud of. But most of all Chad leaves behind his wife Sophya and his precious daughter Julianna. He will be forever missed by his family, his friends, his coworkers and everyone that knew him but he will never be forgotten. His memory will forever live on through us all.

THE MAN. THE MYTH. THE LEGEND.

From the words of his daughter Julianna, "Fly High Dad"
