Catherine Makris, 65, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away suddenly

Catherine, grew up in Brooklyn, graduating from Fort Hamilton H.S., and the City College of New York. She started her corporate career during college as a secretary, advancing upward, becoming  Human Resources VP for a major investment company.

She was active in Staten Island and Brooklyn, shuttling between volunteer duties and caring for others. She became an Emergency Medical Technician, in order to better service her old neighborhood, devoting considerable time and effort to BRAVO- the Bay Ridge Volunteer Ambulance.

She was an active member of Holy Rosary Church, Staten Island. And participated in civic activities, being a frequent election poll worker or observer. She could be found out in the woods, relaxing in the countryside, as a bird watcher.

She seemed to have endless energy when helping friends and family.
