IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carmel "Mickey"
Wotczak
September 11, 1931 – May 7, 2020
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Carmel "Mickey" Wotczak passed away on May 7th at the age of 88 years old.
Born on September 11th, 1931 in Brooklyn to Mary and Samuel Micara, she had three brothers, Frank, Sam and Joseph. Working as a civilian employee at Fort Hamilton Army Base, she met the love of her life Richard Wotczak who she married three months later in 1958. Mickey and Richard had the kind of love story you could only witness in the movies.
A dedicated wife, mother to four children, and grandmother to fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mickey was a true gift to the world. She had an infectious personality and adored being in the company of her loved ones. She was immensely proud of the accomplishments of her grandchildren, always in attendance at dance recitals, sporting events, concerts, religious and personal milestones. A passion for music and singing, she brought joy to her family by sharing her love of Frank Sinatra and singing along to her records. She enjoyed cooking traditional Italian meals, and spending time with her lifelong friends.
Mickey was beautiful, generous, funny, great at telling stories, and a proud New Yorker. Her family celebrates her life by acknowledging all the hearts of those she touched along the way. She will be dearly missed and forever loved.
Mickey is survived by her husband Richard Wotczak, children Richard Jr., Linda and Steve, Robert and Maureen, Maria and Tim, 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
For those looking forward to celebrating Mickey's life, a memorial gathering will be held at a future time.
On behalf of our Dad and our family, we want to extend our love and deep gratitude for your support and kindness that you have shown all of us.
