IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anthony
Marrone
August 10, 1945 – December 22, 2025
Anthony "Butchie" Marrone passed away on December 22, 2025. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud veteran, and a man whose strength, discipline, and heart left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Anthony was the beloved husband of Patricia Marrone and the loving father of Christie and Joseph. His family was the center of his world, and he devoted his life to his children — from supporting them through every milestone to driving them to countless sporting events, always present and dependable.
He was the son of Mary T. Marrone and the brother of Robert Marrone. A loving godfather and devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews, Anthony took great pride in his family and the role he played in their lives.
Known affectionately as "Butchie," he was a man of strong character — tough and disciplined, yet with the biggest heart. His loyalty, guidance, and quiet strength touched everyone around him.
Basketball was a major part of Anthony's life from a young age. He attended John Jay High School before transferring to Colby Academy, where he continued to pursue his passion for the game. A standout player, he carried his love for basketball throughout his life, especially with his children. He was also a proud member of the marching band, playing the bugle in a nationally recognized drum and bugle corps — an achievement that reflected his discipline, teamwork, and dedication.
Anthony proudly served his country as a Vietnam War veteran. Drafted between 1966 and 1968, he served as an artillery leader, where his exceptional math proficiency and ability to calculate distances under pressure made him highly effective and deeply respected. His precision, focus, and calm under fire saved lives and reflected his unwavering sense of duty.
Professionally, Anthony worked as an analyst at E.F. Hutton and later at Sabin Commodities, where he became a top chartist on the gold and silver exchange. His intelligence, discipline, and analytical mind earned him great respect throughout his career.
Above all else, Anthony was a loving father and devoted family man. His presence, guidance, and love will live on through his children, family, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Anthony's memory to
Caldwell University Women's Basketball
, honoring his lifelong love of the game and his belief in dedication, teamwork, and opportunity for future generations.
