IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anthony
D'Urso
July 24, 1968 – February 21, 2026
Anthony D'Urso, age 57, passed away on the evening of Saturday February 21, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Anthony was born in Bay Ridge Hospital in Brooklyn and spent his whole life living and loving Bay Ridge. Anthony attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Grammar School and Church where he served as altar boy. He attended Xaverian High School and Pace University, graduating in 1991 with a degree in Business Administration. Anthony was always a straight A student who was equally gifted with music as he taught himself to play guitar. His love of music led him to a short career working in a recording studio in Manhattan. He then spent 29 years working for the MTA, NYC Transit, as a Train Operator mainly working out of Coney Island.
Anthony was a big New York Met fan and loved watching soccer and spending time with his beloved late Uncle Johnny, who was like a second father to him. Anthony also loved caring for animals, especially his pet cats and his parakeets. Anthony was quick-witted with his jokes and was a natural comedian who made people laugh with his unusual sense of humor. He was not afraid to speak his mind and did things his way.
Anthony's greatest trait was his heart. He was a very generous and giving person with a childlike heart of gold. He was known as Uncle Tony to his beloved nephews Anthony and John whom he loved spending time with on holidays and birthdays. Anthony was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Emily and his Uncle John. He is survived by his brother Joseph and his wife Sherry and his nephews Anthony and John.
In lieu of flowers and in observance on the Lenten Season, family kindly requests donations in Anthony's memory to:
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
