Obituary

Annette Dennigan Cohill (nee Liptak) passed away at the age of 94 on March 14, 2024. She was born August 19, 1929, in New York City, the eighth of nine children, and youngest daughter, of John and Elizabeth Kubis Liptak, immigrants from Slovakia. She raised three children with her first husband, Martin Dennigan. She then returned to the business world as a secretary, executive assistant and, ultimately, a marketing manager with Nabisco. In retirement, she divided her time between Brooklyn, where she doted on her grandchildren, and Suffolk County, where she enjoyed beachcombing with her husband James H. Cohill. She loved tap-dancing, classic movies, mysteries, and puzzles. She was a regular volunteer gardener at Central Park in Manhattan and Butterfly Gardens in Brooklyn. She was cherished and will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews as the last living link to the first American generation of the Liptak family.

Annette is dearly loved and will be keenly missed by her husband, James; her son Brian and daughters Nancy and Tracey Dennigan; son-in-law Richard Guay; daughter-in-law Zoila Grullon Dennigan; grandsons-in-law Timothy Korniarski, Rich Bykowski, and Christian Vale; and the four grandchildren who were her pride and joy: Kathryn Anne Dennigan, Loren Maria Guay, Elizabeth Rose Vale, and Marta Linda Guay.
