Ambrogio (Ambrose) D'Ambra peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his family on May 20, 2021. He was 84 Years old.

He was born on July 23, 1936 in Annaba Algeria. He was the second child of six born to the late Raffaele and Fiorenza D'Ambra.

His parents moved to Algeria where Ambrogio was born from the Island of Ischia. They returned to the Island of Ischia as a family years later.

It was on that same island that he met Rosaria, his wife of 57 years. They were married in Pompeii.

Ambrogio served in the Italian Navy.

In 1964 Ambrogio and his wife Rosaria embarked on a ship that would take them to America where they would settle down in Brooklyn and create lifelong memories in the D'Ambra home and where he fathered their four children.

He was a dedicated member of the local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses since his dedication and baptism in August of 1976.

Professionally no matter where he was employed, he was respected and valued not only for his intellect but most importantly for his loyalty to his work. He spent many years using his hands as a professional Artist. Creating beautiful oil paintings that his family will cherish forever.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed cooking. Known for making the best and biggest meatballs in Brooklyn. He enjoyed walking by the ocean on sunny days and watching ships going in and out of the ports of New York while he listened to Italian music many times from his favorite operas.

His examples of loyalty, dignity, kindness and trust will always be remembered. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older brother Michele D'Ambra of Florence Italy, and his sister Restituta Tumino of Margate Florida.  He is survived by his wife, Rosaria D'Ambra, his brother Salvatore D'Ambra and his wife Franca, his sister Colomba Sacchetti and her husband Vincenzo, his sister Rosalia Stabile and her husband Alberto of Sicily Italy. His daughter Fiorenza (Florence) Vaughn and her husband Stephen, his daughter Giovanna (Joanne) Oxley and her husband Roger, his son Michael D'Ambra and his daughter Elisa D'Ambra.

He leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Lauren Vaughn, Aaron Vaughn, Michael Flores, Gabriella Rosado, Leanna Rosado and Arianna D'Ambra.

He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

We look forward to seeing him in God's new world where "no resident will say "I am sick".  Isaiah 33:24.
