Albert Batanjany, 79, passed away on September 5, 2025, after a 2-year courageous battle with cancer. He fought with determination and grace until his final days. He was born on January 2, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York.
Albert is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Ellen; his daughters, Jennifer, Debbie, and Kristal; his cherished grandchildren, Justin, Aiden, and Ethan; his sons-in-law Jerry and Erik; and his sister, Louise.
A proud graduate of Fort Hamilton High School, Albert went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army as a member of the 4th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. He was a proud veteran and active member of the American Legion.
Albert was an entrepreneur at heart and a successful salesman. He ran a thriving produce wholesale business at Hunts Point Market and later built his own business as a Mac Tools distributor. His work ethic, determination, and generosity touched all who knew him.
Beyond his career, Albert loved gardening, family traditions, and creating special experiences for the people he loved. Whether it was family vacations, dinners, or simple moments together, he found joy in caring for his family and making sure they were happy.
Albert's legacy of devotion, love, and generosity will live on through his family. He will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the love he gave so freely. He would want those who knew him to carry on by living life to the fullest.
