*SCHEDULE CHANGE DUE TO SNOW - PLEASE SEE BELOW
Alba Gloria (Capone) Savage peacefully transitioned from life on her birthday, February 18, 2026, with her husband of 57 years, Ed Savage, by her side.
Alba was born in Brooklyn, NY to Nicholas and Antonietta (Ciampa) Capone. She received undergraduate and graduate degrees from Hunter College of the City University of New York. A long-time educator, Alba taught for many years at P.S. 127-The McKinley Park School after beginning her teaching career at P.S. 46 in Fort Greene.
She was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Angels and a former parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Alba gave back to her community by volunteering with the Lutheran Medical Center Auxiliary, Bay Ridge Center and Bay Ridge AARP Chapter #3630, serving as the Volunteer Program Director and receiving recognition from National AARP for her outstanding community service.
Surviving are her husband Edward Savage, Sr. of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY; son Edward Savage, Jr. (Kathleen) of Mechanicsburg, PA and grandchildren Michael, Ethan and Kyle Savage; daughter Dawn Fiore (Joseph) of Florham Park, NJ and grandchildren Kayden and Leonardo Fiore; and sister-in-law Leonora Capone of Cheshire, CT. She was predeceased by her brother, Gino Capone, and her granddaughter, Claudia Veronica Fiore.
In lieu of flowers, and in observance of the Lenten Season, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the American Liver Foundation, a cause dear to Alba, in honor of her granddaughter Claudia: https://diy.liverfoundation.org/honorandmemorial/support-memorial-tribute/#Claudia
