Adrian Alexandru passed away on Monday the 15th of December, 2025. Born July 16th, 1939 in Romania to Alexandru and D Unguraneu, he was the youngest of four children. He was a beloved husband to Sanda, and a beloved father to his late son Mark, and his son Alexander. He is also survived by his niece Mara Pavel and her children Ariel, Brian, and Craig, as well as his niece Adriana Rosca and her children, Alexandru and Alexandra Panait along with his niece and nephew Bebe Ionescu and Vicki Ionescu.

Adrian studied veterinary medicine in Romania. In 1969, he defected from Romania to start a life in the United States. He attended Cornell University where he obtained a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1973, and later an MBA. Adrian practiced veterinary medicine in Brooklyn, New York until 2019. He was one of the earliest veterinarians specializing in small animals and was greatly beloved by his community. He was dedicated to offering affordable services, often providing free animal care to those in need. His clinics continue to be among the region's most accessible.

Adrian was an avid entrepreneur: besides his long-standing veterinary practice in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, he owned and operated six additional clinics throughout his life. While continuing to practice medicine, he branched out into real estate, medical research, animal pharmaceuticals, tech, publication, hotel management, and often advised local businesses that operated across a number of sectors.

Sadly, Adrian was diagnosed with dementia late in his life. He will be sorely missed by his loved ones and the community he cultivated.
